March 18

Sunday.

woke up to see a white morning as it sleeted and snowed during the night been home all day. Mary Louis dident come. – dident go to church either. Bill & Dad went tonight. talked to Tom today. wrote Uncle Walter. all well.

Not sure who some of these folks are this week. Dell Williams? the Loves? Mary Louis?

I want to know what a tacky party is! Probably just what it sounds like.

Found a page in Tut’s scrapbook about the St. Patrick’s Day Party! Hosted by two Paulines! So which one is Polly?

The invitation

Here’s a clipping she saved about the party and a cute little party favor.

I just rediscovered this scrapbook of Tut’s in a box of stuff recently and it is not in very good condition. If I remember right, it had been stored with a bunch of stuff out in the shed at their house on University. The pages are starting to crumble, but the things inside are intact, so I am going to try and capture some of it like this. (I remembered that little shamrock, so I went and dug it out again when I saw the mention of the party.) The nice thing is that it dates from around 1930 through 1938, so the time period of Lill’s diary, and from when Tut was about age 16 through the time she married Jack. I also have another book that is a bride’s book and has momentos from the year they married including bridal showers and cards and things. Treasures!
