The April 15th entry is so sweet. Your wish came true, Lill. Edwina had many, many more happy birthdays. Also, she added this to her scrapbook for that day: “under the whispering pines of Bedias Texas. April 15, 1934 what a wonderful day. the happiest birthday I have ever spent.”

Well, Spring is officially here, because they took the stove out! Also lots of cleaning.

There are a number of things from this week that are also mentioned in Tom’s letters from The Bedias Expedition. Tom mentions going out there Monday night for ice cream, he mentions the rain and also a card party at the Swenson sisters (Grandma Annie?) and Edwina getting stuck in town due to the rain.

I love hearing about Lill’s garden. Also, I love the sound of a rainy Saturday reading and napping.

Stay tuned next week for the run up to the big expedition. Lillian doesn’t make quite as much of it as Tom does, at least she doesn’t hardly discuss the arrangements. But she does enjoy the trip!
